Before You Start
A Transaction Certificate (TC) is a document that attests to a business transaction of GOTS-certified goods between a buyer and a seller.
The creation of a TC requires a Certified Input Reference to conduct checks against fraud through a process called volume reconciliation. Certified Input Reference refers to a prior TC that contains the material being bought in the TC being created.
Remember to always check the following first:
- If a prior TC containing the Certified Input Reference exists, then state so when creating your TC.
- If it doesn’t, you must first create a pre-GTB TC and reference it later, when creating your TC.
The information needed to create your pre-GTB TC in GTB will likely be available from your CB in the form of a PDF TC. You will need to enter this information into GTB to serve as a Certified Input Reference.
How to Create a pre-GTB Transaction Certificate (TC)
- Go to Organisations > Supply chain operators.
-
Search for the buyer Supply Chain Operator’s (SCO) business name and hover over its name:
- If the buyer SCO does not exist in GTB, you must create it first – see How to Create a New SCO.
- If the buyer SCO already exists, continue with the next step.
- Click on Show details to open the SCO account information page.
- On the SCO page, go to More lists > Pre-GTB TCs:
-
- On the page that follows, click on Add list item (+) to begin the process.
- A new Pre-GTB Products page will then open.
- Fill out all relevant information and save changes.
- A page will be created for Material composition next.
How to Add New Materials to pre-GTB TCs
- Go to Pre-GTB Products > Material composition.
- Click on Add list item (+) to begin the process.
- Fill out all relevant material information and save changes.
- Repeat this process for every material in your product composition.
Once all materials are successfully added, go back to Pre-GTB TC > Basic data and update the status of the pre-GTB TC to Final. This will ensure it can be now effectively used as an input reference for other TCs.
